This one had a lot going on. A large historic property with a back pathway choked by overgrown palms, garden beds that needed fresh plants, citrus trees that were past their prime, and a massive oak tree that had dropped what ended up being about 30 bags of leaves. It's the kind of yard that looks manageable from the street but turns into a full day of work once you get into it.
We started with the pathway. The palms had completely taken over the walkway along the side of the house - barely passable. We cleared all of that out and opened it back up. From there we got into the tree swap, pulling the old citrus and putting in new satsuma trees in their place. Satsumas do well in this climate and they'll fill in nicely over time.
The garden beds got a full overhaul. We added new plants throughout, put in roses at a corner bed, and topped everything off with pine and brown mulch. Fresh mulch does more than just look good - it holds moisture, keeps weeds down, and gives the beds a clean, finished edge that ties the whole yard together.
Then came the oak. Historic oaks are beautiful, but they drop leaves constantly and the buildup around this one was serious. We hauled off right around 30 bags worth. Once that was cleared, the lawn opened up and you could actually appreciate how good the rest of the yard looked. Clean grass, defined beds, open pathways - completely different feel.
This is the kind of full-service landscaping and lawn maintenance work we do regularly. Whether it's new plantings, tree work, leaf removal, or a total yard reset, we handle it all. Properties like this one - with character and history - deserve that level of attention.
